Repentance · Active healing and a pill

Magdalene:
Yum Heart and healing reserves

Use Yum Heart, distinguish healing from capacity and check Magdalene's unlocked Full Health pill before spending it.

Understand the system

Spend healing when red health can receive it.

Yum Heart fills existing health

Magdalene starts with Yum Heart. A normal unmodified use restores one Red Heart within existing empty capacity, then spends its charge. Its base recharge takes four room charges. It does not replace missing Soul or Black Hearts.

Keep enough reserve to reach the heal

A ready heal does not automatically activate after a lethal hit. Check charge and current health before committing to optional damage. Her slower starting movement also means you should leave space to dodge instead of depending only on the larger red reserve.

The starting pill is an upgrade

Completing Aprils Fool adds a Full Health pill to Magdalene's start in Repentance. A normal Full Health pill fills existing red capacity and is consumed. Optional Birthright adds a full container and raises the maximum heart limit to 18; ordinary healing does not do that.

Yum Heart is the starting active; Birthright is optional. Full Health is a starting pill only after Aprils Fool. The neutral pill symbol identifies the effect; it does not show a seed-specific pill color.

Magdalene

Use a ready Yum Heart while missing two Red Hearts

Before

Magdalene; 2 of 4 Red Hearts filled; Yum Heart ready; no healing or charge modifiers

After

3 of 4 Red Hearts filled; Yum Heart charge spent

The use restores one Red Heart without adding another container.

Check before acting: Recheck the health bar and the four-bar recharge before another risk.

Before the next action

  1. Compare filled red health with capacity and the Yum Heart charge display. Use a safe opening when the heal can restore health you need.
  2. Before a Sacrifice Room or other health payment, plan the next recovery and exit. Count available healing resources without assuming they make every payment affordable.
  3. Check whether the starting pill upgrade is unlocked and whether the pill is identified. Save a known Full Health pill for meaningful missing red health.
