How to reach Home and The Beast

Open the Strange Door, find Dad's Note and survive the Ascent.

Before you start

Defeat Mother once to make A Strange Door appear on Depths II.

Route steps

Follow the route

4 steps
  1. Step 01

Plan a way back from Mom

Bring a teleport card or another way out of the Mom boss room. You need to collect The Polaroid or The Negative after that fight and return to the starting room of Depths II.

  2. Step 02

    Open A Strange Door

Use The Polaroid, The Negative or Faded Polaroid on the door in the starting room. Continue through the next area to Dad's Note.

  3. Step 03

    Take Dad's Note

Picking it up starts the Ascent. Climb back through the earlier floors and enter Home.

  4. Step 04

    Prepare at Home

The Home route leads to Dogma and then The Beast. To unlock a tainted character on this run, open the hidden hallway door before entering Mom's bedroom.

Keep in mind

  • A teleport is important because the photograph drops after Mom's fight.
  • Drop a trinket in a Boss Room or Treasure Room before taking Dad's Note if you need a Cracked Key during the Ascent.
