Isaac:
D6 unlock and pedestal choices

Check Isaac's D6 unlock, distinguish room pedestals from held items and choose one face of a Birthright pedestal.

Understand the system

Choose which known effect is worth replacing.

The starting D6 needs an unlock

Defeating Isaac as Blue Baby unlocks The D6 and adds it to ordinary Isaac starts. Before that milestone, a fresh Isaac run does not have the starting reroll tool. Check the active slot rather than assuming the unlock is present.

Room pedestals are the targets

The D6 rerolls room pedestal items into replacements from the relevant room pool. It does not reroll the held build like D4. Its base recharge takes six room charges. Read all eligible pedestals before using one activation.

Birthright offers a choice

Optional Birthright makes new pedestals cycle between two alternatives. Taking the displayed option awards that one item, not both. This ordinary Isaac choice does not impose Tainted Isaac's eight-passive inventory limit.

The D6 becomes a starting active after Blue Baby defeats Isaac. Birthright is optional. Icons link to these rules; the examples do not predict the replacement item.

Isaac

Start an ordinary Isaac run before the D6 unlock

Before

D6 starting upgrade not unlocked; fresh ordinary run; no special seed or modifier

After

No starting D6 in the active slot

The character is available before this permanent starting upgrade. The icon here is a reference to the tool you can unlock.

Check before acting: Defeat Isaac as Blue Baby to add the D6 to later ordinary Isaac starts.

Before the next action

  1. Check the profile's D6 unlock and current charge before planning around a reroll. A strong effect already available may be worth taking without another roll.
  2. Inspect every eligible pedestal in the room. Collect the effects you want to keep normally before rerolling the remaining offers.
  3. With Birthright, watch both faces and take the intended one when displayed. Judge the effect you actually acquired before using another charge.
