Repentance · Charges and temporary effects

Tainted Bethany:
Blood charges and Lemegeton

Separate red-heart charges from Soul health and understand the temporary item effects supplied by Lemegeton.

Understand the system

Protect the wisps that power the build.

Red Hearts supply charges

Red health is not her protective health bar. A half Red Heart supplies one Blood Charge. Soul and Black Hearts supply health, while Blood Charges can fund active uses when regular charges are short.

Lemegeton supplies an item effect on a wisp

The summoned passive effect lasts while its wisp is alive. Destruction removes that effect. Treat it as a vulnerable addition to the build, rather than an ordinary acquired collectible.

A room pool is a chance, not a guarantee

Lemegeton has a 25% current-room-pool branch; otherwise it selects from a random pool. Only summonable items qualify. Its wisps do not grant transformation progress or the normal initial health/pickup reward of a collectible.

Original item and pickup art identifies the linked reference entries. These icons are not screenshots of a clot, wisp, bag contents or poop queue.

Before the next action

  1. Collect red pickups for charges and Soul or Black Hearts for survival.
  2. Consider where to spend Lemegeton uses without promising a particular item.
  3. Avoid using wisps as disposable shields when their item effects keep your build working.
