Samson:
Bloody Lust and floor transitions

Understand Samson's Bloody Lust trigger, carry its bonus between rooms and check what resets when entering a new floor.

Understand the system

Use a damage bonus without spending the run to earn it.

A qualifying hit adds damage

Samson starts with Bloody Lust. Taking damage builds a damage bonus for the current floor, up to six boosts without modifiers. The gained offense does not refund the lost health.

Room changes keep the bonus

Bloody Lust carries its accumulated bonus into other rooms on the same floor. Entering a new floor clears that accumulation; permanent stats and other held effects are separate.

Birthright extends the ceiling

Optional Birthright allows four more Bloody Lust boosts on that floor. This is a higher ceiling for damage-triggered growth, not a shield or an automatic heal.

Bloody Lust is the starting passive; Birthright is optional. Examples isolate a surviving, qualifying hit and exclude other damage, healing and floor-persistent modifiers.

What changes after this action?

These are fixed teaching examples with stated conditions. Choose an action and compare what you have before and after it.

Samson

Survive the first qualifying hit of the floor

Before

Samson; Bloody Lust held; 3 Red Hearts; ordinary half-heart hit; no modifiers

After

2.5 Red Hearts; first Bloody Lust damage boost active

The hit costs health while adding offense.

Check before acting: Reassess the fight and available recovery.

Before the next action

  1. Choose safe fights first. A bonus from an accidental hit can help the remaining floor without making another hit worthwhile.
  2. Before optional health payments, compare the potential gain with the recovery and protection you actually have.
  3. Check damage and health after a floor transition. Reassess the next fight using the current build rather than the previous floor bonus.
