Repentance · Two hitboxes and inventories

Jacob & Esau:
Two bodies and separate builds

Assign items and healing to the right brother, keep both bodies safe and check both bomb placements before using one.

Understand the system

Plan pickups and dodge paths for both.

Health and items belong to one brother

Jacob and Esau move and shoot together, but have separate health bars and item inventories. Most stats differ, while speed is shared. A normal item goes to the brother who takes it. Transformation progress is also separate. Coins, bombs and keys use shared counters.

Reposition before the narrow gap

Holding the drop control lets Jacob move while Esau stays still under Repentance controls. Obstacles can separate their positions. If either brother dies, both die without an applicable revival, so protect the weaker reserve too.

One bomb stock, two placements

Ordinary bomb use places a bomb at each brother while consuming one shared bomb. Check both locations and blast areas. Birthright copies three recent passives from the other brother to its recipient; it does not permanently merge inventories.

Birthright is an optional copying reference, not a starting item or shared-inventory toggle. Red Heart and Bomb art identify ordinary pickups and placement resources.

What changes after this action?

These are fixed teaching examples with stated conditions. Choose an action and compare what you have before and after it.

Jacob & Esau

Let Jacob collect an ordinary passive

Before

Both alive; one free ordinary non-speed passive; no item-sharing effect

After

Jacob gains the passive; Esau does not gain its effect

This ordinary passive belongs to the brother who took it. The example excludes key pieces, shared speed and effects that explicitly copy items.

Check before acting: Choose the intended recipient before moving onto the pedestal.

Birthright is an optional copying reference, not a starting item or shared-inventory toggle. Red Heart and Bomb art identify ordinary pickups and placement resources.

This reference does not read your save, calculate a crafting recipe or simulate an arbitrary inventory, health bar, queue or combat state.

Before the next action

  1. Before a pedestal or healing pickup, choose who needs it. Align the intended recipient before approaching so the other body does not take it accidentally.
  2. Regroup in a safe opening before crossing a narrow gap. Check both hitboxes rather than watching only the brother leading the route.
  3. Before placing a bomb, inspect the area around both bodies. Separate them deliberately only when you can also keep both away from the explosions.
