Tainted Judas:
Dark Arts timing

Time Dark Arts, tag enemies and shots, then leave yourself room to dodge when its protection ends.

Understand the system

Plan where the protection ends.

Cross targets, then resolve

Dark Arts briefly protects you and lets you pass through enemies and projectiles. Crossed targets are marked; the attack resolves when the effect finishes. Shooting ends it early.

A temporary damage window

Tainted Judas gains a short-lived damage bonus from crossed enemies and projectiles. It fades afterward. A busy room can create an opening, but the increase is not a permanent damage pickup.

Finish before collecting

Pickups, machines and beggars cannot be used during Dark Arts. Finish the effect before trying to collect a reward or make a payment.

What changes after this action?

These are fixed teaching examples with stated conditions. Choose an action and compare what you have before and after it.

Tainted Judas

Cross an enemy and a projectile

Before

Dark Arts active; one enemy and one hostile projectile on the route

After

Targets tagged; attack resolves when Dark Arts ends

Crossing the targets prepares the attack and adds a temporary character damage bonus. It does not permanently raise the damage stat.

Check before acting: Choose a clear stopping point before the effect expires.

Before the next action

  1. Before activation, choose both a route through targets and a clear place to stop. A short safe route is often more useful than crossing every shot.
  2. Let the brief effect run when you need its protection. Press fire early only when you deliberately want to end it.
  3. After the effect, resume dodging and use the temporary opening. Collect rewards once normal interaction returns.
