How to fight Mom
Your first main-path finale combines a shadow-marked foot stomp with attacks and enemies from the four wall doors.
Main-path Mom in Repentance. Champion versions differ; Mausoleum and Gehenna Mom has stronger stomps and eye lasers.
Before entering
Keep space from the door openings and leave yourself a clear route out of a stomp shadow.
- 1
Stomp shadow
Watch for: A growing shadow and a grunt warn of a stomp at Isaac's position; the opening stomp lands in the center.
Try: Move outside the shadow before the foot lands, then attack it from a safe distance.
- 2
Wall openings
Watch for: Hands reach from nearby doors, while exposed eyes and flesh also cause contact damage.
Try: Shoot exposed parts without standing against a doorway. Move away before approaching another opening.
- 3
Summoned enemies
Watch for: Monsters from the doors can occupy your escape route while another stomp is being prepared.
Try: Clear the threats closest to you and keep watching the floor for the next shadow.
