Flag Pole
A Flag Pole is a craftable base structure in DayZ that refreshes the lifetime of items inside its radius when the flag is raised. It is used to help maintain bases, tents, fences, watchtowers, and storage by preventing nearby persistent objects from despawning.
Quick item summary
Quick answer
The Flag Pole is a major base-building structure used to maintain a built base over time. Once fully constructed and fitted with a Flag, the flag can be raised and lowered by the player. While raised, it refreshes the lifetime of nearby persistent objects within its radius, making it important for long-term bases.
In-game description
“A buildable flag pole. The sturdy base supporting a stabilized mast, upon which a flag can be hoisted.”
Main Uses
- Refresh the lifetime of nearby persistent base objects
- Help prevent nearby tents, fences, watchtowers, and storage from despawning
- Mark and maintain a long-term base location
- Raise or lower a Flag attached to the pole
- Support large bases with many persistent objects
- Reduce the need to manually interact with every nearby base object
- Create a visible landmark for your group or base area
How to use this item
Start a Flag Pole
A Flag Pole begins with a deployed Flag Pole Kit. After the kit is placed, the base is built in stages using logs, stones, tools, and later pole materials.
- Craft or obtain a Flag Pole Kit.
- Deploy the Flag Pole Kit where you want the pole.
- Attach the first Wooden Log.
- Use a Sledgehammer to construct the base start.
- Continue adding the remaining materials for the support and pole stages.
Build the base
The first construction stage creates the base of the Flag Pole.
- Deploy the Flag Pole Kit.
- Attach 1 Wooden Log.
- Use a Sledgehammer to build the base.
- Continue into the support stage after the base is built.
Build the support
The support stage uses stones and logs to create the foundation around the base log.
- Attach 32 Large Stones.
- Attach 6 Wooden Logs.
- Use a Shovel or Pickaxe to build the support.
- Move on to the pole stage once the support is complete.
Build the pole
The pole stage finishes the Flag Pole and creates the mechanism needed to raise a Flag.
- Attach 3 Wooden Logs.
- Attach 60 Nails.
- Attach Metal Wire.
- Attach Rope.
- Use a Hammer or Hatchet to build the final pole.
- Attach a Flag once the structure is complete.
Raise and maintain the Flag
Once a Flag is attached, raise it to refresh nearby persistent objects. Over time, the flag lowers and must be raised again to continue refreshing object lifetimes.
- Attach a Flag to the completed Flag Pole.
- Raise the Flag.
- Return periodically to raise the Flag as it lowers over time.
- Keep the Flag Pole active to maintain nearby base objects.
How to get Flag Pole
