Quick answer

The PO-X Antidote is one of the most important medical items for contaminated-zone survival. It is used when a survivor is suffering from gas poisoning, especially after exposure in static or dynamic gas zones. It also acts similarly to an expensive Epinephrine Auto-Injector by adding shock and waking unconscious players.

In-game description

The label is worn. The only readable parts are the letters "PO-X" and a drawing that displays how to use the injector. Remove the cap and push hard against the skin.

Main Uses

  • Treat gas poisoning from contaminated zones
  • Cure stage 1 gas poisoning
  • Cure stage 2 gas poisoning
  • Reduce stage 3 gas poisoning back to stage 2
  • Instantly wake an unconscious survivor
  • Act as an expensive emergency alternative to Epinephrine

How to use this item

Treat gas poisoning

Use the PO-X Antidote when a survivor is ill with gas poisoning from a contaminated zone. It cures earlier gas poisoning stages and can reduce a late-stage illness back to stage 2.

  1. Move out of the contaminated zone if possible.
  2. Use the PO-X Antidote on the poisoned survivor.
  3. If the illness is stage 1 or 2, the antidote cures it.
  4. If the illness is stage 3, the antidote reduces it back to stage 2.
  5. Continue treatment and avoid further gas exposure.

Wake an unconscious survivor

The PO-X Antidote adds shock to the player, which can wake an unconscious survivor in a similar way to Epinephrine.

  1. Confirm the player is unconscious, not dead.
  2. Use the PO-X Antidote on the player.
  3. Move them to safety and continue treatment.

Use only when worth it

Because PO-X Antidotes are rare and valuable, they are usually best saved for gas poisoning instead of being used as a general emergency injector.
