Golden rule: save Primogems for limited banners.

Use free Acquaint Fates on the Standard Banner, but spend Primogems mainly on Intertwined Fates for limited character banners. This is the easiest way to avoid wasting F2P pulls.

Fates

Intertwined Fate vs Acquaint Fate

Wishes use Fates. The most important beginner mistake is converting Primogems into the wrong Fate type.

Intertwined Fate

Limited banners

Used for limited character banners, weapon banners, and Chronicled Wish. This is usually what Primogems should become.

Acquaint Fate

Standard banner

Used on the permanent Standard Banner. Spend free Acquaint Fates here, but do not usually convert Primogems into them.

Banner types

Where Should You Wish?

Each banner has its own purpose, pity rules, and risk level.

Limited Character Banner

Intertwined Fate

Best target for most F2P and beginner players.

Only pull if you actually want the featured 5-star or are okay building pity toward them.

Weapon Banner

Intertwined Fate

For players who already have the character and can afford risk.

Even after the 5.0 improvement, this can still cost up to 160 wishes for the chosen weapon.

Standard Banner

Acquaint Fate

Use free Acquaint Fates from progression and rewards.

Do not spend Primogems here unless you fully understand what you are giving up.

Chronicled Wish

Intertwined Fate

Occasional rerun-style banner with a fixed lineup.

Check the lineup and rules first. Fate Points do not carry after the banner ends.

Pity basics

What Is Pity?

Pity is your safety net. It counts how many wishes you have made since your last 5-star on that banner type.

Pity

Your wish counter

Pity is the number of wishes since your last 5-star on that banner type.

Soft pity

Odds start rising

A community term for the range where 5-star odds usually increase before hard pity.

Hard pity

Guaranteed 5-star

Character banners guarantee a 5-star by 90 wishes. Weapon banners guarantee one by 80 wishes.

Reset

After a 5-star

When you get a 5-star, that banner type's 5-star pity counter resets.

Character banner

50/50 and Guarantee

Starting point

If you are not on guarantee, your limited character 5-star is normally treated as a 50/50.

Win

If you get the featured character, your next limited character 5-star is back to 50/50.

Lose

If you get a standard 5-star instead, your next limited character 5-star is guaranteed featured.

Worst case

Plan around up to 180 wishes if you want to fully guarantee a limited character from zero pity.

Updated mechanic

Capturing Radiance

Capturing Radiance

When you are not already guaranteed, this can sometimes turn the result into the promotional 5-star. For planning, beginners can still think 50/50 plus guarantee, with slightly better odds.

Character Event Wish-2

The two simultaneous limited character banners share pity and guarantee with each other.

Guarantee matters most

Even with updated odds, the safest question is still: am I on 50/50 or am I guaranteed?

Weapon banner

Weapon Banner and Epitomized Path

The weapon banner is better than it used to be, but it is still expensive. Set your Epitomized Path before pulling.

Hard pity

80 wishes

Weapon banners guarantee a 5-star weapon by 80 wishes.

Featured weapon chance

75%

A 5-star weapon has a high chance to be one of the two featured weapons.

Epitomized Path

1 Fate Point

Choose a weapon path before pulling. If your 5-star is not the chosen weapon, you gain 1 Fate Point.

Chosen weapon guarantee

Up to 160 wishes

After 1 Fate Point, your next 5-star weapon on that banner is guaranteed to be your chosen weapon.

F2P warning: Fate Points reset when the weapon banner ends. Do not start a weapon path casually unless you can afford to finish it.

Carry-over rules

What Carries Over and What Resets?

This is where a lot of new players get confused. Pity and Fate Points are not always the same thing.

Character Event Wish

Pity and featured guarantee carry to future limited character banners.

Character Event Wish-2

Shares pity and guarantee with the main limited character banner.

Weapon Event Wish

Weapon pity carries to future weapon banners, but Fate Points reset when the banner ends or you change/cancel the path.

Standard Banner

Standard Banner pity is separate from limited character and weapon banners.

Chronicled Wish

Chronicled Wish pity is separate. Chronicled Fate Points do not carry after that Chronicled Wish ends.

How much to save

Wish Saving Targets

Casual target

75-90 wishes

Enough to usually reach one 5-star from low pity, but not enough to guarantee the featured character if you lose.

Safe character target

160-180 wishes

Enough to plan for a worst-case limited character guarantee from zero pity.

Weapon target

Up to 160 wishes

Only consider this if you can finish the Epitomized Path before the banner ends.

Pity tracking

How to Track Your Pity

Before pulling, check your history so you know how close you are and whether you are on 50/50 or guarantee.

1

Open Wish History

Check the banner type you are pulling on. Character, weapon, standard, and Chronicled Wish are separate.

2

Find your last 5-star

Count how many wishes happened after your last 5-star on that banner type.

3

Check what the 5-star was

If your last limited character 5-star was standard, you are guaranteed featured next time.

4

Check banner-specific paths

For weapon or Chronicled Wish, remember that Fate Points reset when that banner ends.

F2P strategy

Smart Wishing Rules

These rules keep your account from losing months of Primogem progress to impulse pulls.

Use Primogems mainly for Intertwined Fates.
Do not spend Primogems on Standard Banner.
Do not pull just to build pity.
Skip banners where you do not want the featured 5-star.
Save enough to survive losing 50/50.
Characters usually matter more than weapons for new accounts.
Set your Epitomized Path before weapon banner pulls.
Stop after getting your target unless you planned for constellations.

Avoid these

Common Wishing Mistakes

Spending Primogems on Standard Banner

Free Acquaint Fates are fine, but Primogems should usually be saved for limited banners.

Pulling to build pity

You can accidentally get a 5-star you do not want and reset your pity.

Ignoring guarantee

Always know if you are on 50/50 or guaranteed before spending.

Weapon banner without enough wishes

Fate Points reset, so do not start a weapon path unless you can afford the plan.

Chronicled Wish confusion

Chronicled Wish has its own rules. Check the lineup and path before pulling.

Chasing every banner

F2P accounts grow faster when they save for characters they actually want.
