Adventure Rank is basically your account level. As it rises, your World Level increases, enemies get stronger, and your reward quality improves.

• World Level increases make enemies harder but also improve drops.
• If the world becomes too hard, you can lower your World Level temporarily.
• Claim Adventure Rank rewards from the Adventurers' Guild whenever you reach new milestones.

Daily routine

Quests, Commissions, and Encounter Points

Quests are your main source of account progress early. Daily commissions and encounter points also help you earn steady Adventure EXP, Mora, and Primogems.

• Archon Quests are the main story and unlock major areas.
• Story Quests focus on specific characters.
• World Quests often unlock areas, lore, puzzles, and exploration rewards.
• Daily commissions give consistent Primogems and Adventure EXP.
• Encounter Points can let exploration, events, and other activities count toward daily commission progress.

Explore the Map Early

Exploration is one of the best beginner habits because it gives Adventure EXP, Primogems, materials, Shrine keys, Oculi rewards, teleport points, and stamina upgrades.

• Unlock teleport waypoints whenever you enter a new area.
• Activate Statues of the Seven to reveal map sections and heal your party.
• Collect Oculi and offer them to Statues for rewards and stamina upgrades.
• Open chests, solve puzzles, and collect local specialties as you travel.
• Use the official interactive map if you want to track chests, Oculi, materials, and puzzles.

Progression resource

How Resin Works

Resin is the resource used to claim rewards from progression activities. You do not need resin for normal exploration, story quests, chests, puzzles, or fighting regular enemies.

• World bosses use resin and drop character ascension materials.
• Talent domains use resin and drop books for leveling talents.
• Weapon material domains use resin and help upgrade weapons.
• Ley lines use resin and give Mora or character EXP books.
• Weekly bosses give important talent materials and are worth doing once unlocked.

Spend smarter

Best Early Resin Uses

Early resin should go toward guaranteed upgrades. Artifact domains are tempting, but they are usually a poor use of resin before you can farm higher-quality artifact rewards.

• Prioritize world bosses for your main characters' ascension materials.
• Farm EXP and Mora ley lines when you are short on leveling resources.
• Farm weapon and talent domains for characters you actually use.
• Do weekly bosses when they become available for long-term talent materials.
• Avoid serious artifact domain farming until later, commonly around AR45.

Primogems

Wishes, Pity, and Banners

Wishes are how you get most characters and many weapons. The main beginner rule is to understand the difference between limited banners and the standard banner before spending valuable currency.

• Intertwined Fates are used for limited character banners.
• Acquaint Fates are used for the standard banner.
• Limited character banners have pity and a 50/50 system.
• If you lose the 50/50, your next limited 5-star on that banner type is guaranteed to be the featured character.
• Do not spend Primogems on Acquaint Fates unless you are intentionally choosing to do that.

Power gains

Characters, Weapons, and Talents

Before chasing perfect artifacts, focus on the upgrades that always make your characters stronger: character level, ascension, weapon level, and talents.

• Character levels improve base stats and unlock higher talent caps.
• Ascension requires boss drops, elemental gems, local specialties, and enemy drops.
• Weapons need weapon EXP ore and weapon ascension materials.
• Talents improve normal attacks, skills, and bursts.
• Talent level 10 uses Crowns of Insight, but beginners do not need to crown talents right away.

Gear basics

Artifacts and When to Farm Them

Artifacts are extremely important later, but they are also heavily RNG-based. Early players should use decent pieces they find naturally instead of burning resin chasing perfect sets.

• Artifacts provide stats and set bonuses.
• Main stats matter a lot, especially on sands, goblets, and circlets.
• Do not over-level low-rarity artifacts unless they help you clear content.
• Use boss, chest, quest, and exploration artifacts early.
• Start serious artifact farming later when better domain rewards are available.

Events are one of the easiest ways for new players to pick up Primogems, materials, rare items, and sometimes free 4-star characters or weapons.

• Spiral Abyss early floors can reward useful free characters.

Most early mistakes come from spending limited resources too quickly. You can recover from almost anything, but smart spending makes progression much smoother.

• Do not spend Primogems on the standard banner.
• Do not farm artifact domains heavily before later Adventure Ranks.
• Do not level every character equally at the start.
• Do not ignore weapon levels and talents.
• Do not let resin cap for long periods if you are actively playing.
• Do not rush endgame before your account is ready.

Long-term goals

What Endgame Looks Like

Genshin endgame is something to build toward slowly. New players should know what exists, but should not feel pressured to clear everything immediately.

• Spiral Abyss is the classic combat challenge and eventually requires two teams.
• Imaginarium Theater rewards having many leveled characters.
• Stygian Onslaught is more boss-focused and asks for multiple strong teams.
• Endgame progress depends on time, resin investment, characters, artifacts, and team knowledge.
• Your first goal is not perfect clears. Your first goal is a stable account foundation.
