Levels 1-3
Stack the starter quests
Collect the larger bag, accept nearby tasks, obtain the rope, and complete clustered objectives before stopping to grind.
Progression Record 02
Follow an efficient level 1-10 route built around daytime quests, Faith management, early gold, strong equipment, and reliable farming targets.
Route overview
The route begins with efficient quest stacking, converts early rewards into combat strength, and then transitions into repeatable farming.
Levels 1-3
Collect the larger bag, accept nearby tasks, obtain the rope, and complete clustered objectives before stopping to grind.
Levels 3-6
Complete the most useful town, church, caravan, and tower objectives before ordinary quest NPCs leave for the night.
Around Level 6
Buy the affordable Iron Sword and Studded Shield setup, or attempt the longer White Rats route for the premium Epee.
Levels 6-10
Prioritize Cubes of Doom when available, then rotate to goblins, occultists, skeletons, or other uncontested loops.
Level 10
Take your sustain trait, bank valuable drops, fill weak armor slots, and prepare for the next midgame farming route.
Experience system
The recorded route treats Faith as an experience multiplier that decreases through enemy kills. That makes large quest rewards especially valuable while Faith remains high.
Reported playtest example
At 120 Faith, you receive roughly 1.2x experience. Treat the exact value as build-specific until confirmed in the current client.
Use high Faith on large quest rewards before stopping for a long farming session.
Fight route blockers, important loot targets, and fast enemies rather than clearing everything nearby.
Once questing is complete, fewer high-XP kills may preserve more Faith value than many weak kills.
Before starting
A few settings and inventory decisions prevent most avoidable delays during the opening circuit.
Levels 1-3
The fastest opening is mostly movement and conversation. Accept nearby tasks first, then complete several objectives during the same southern route.
Speak with the nearby quest NPCs before traveling south. Use task, yes, and any names or keywords requested by the dialogue.
The rope is used throughout Apogea for ledges, pits, underground routes, and several early equipment detours.
Turn in the nearby lunch, tool, chest, and delivery objectives as one route rather than returning after every pickup.
The longer Baldwin-related sequence involves repeated conversations but contributes useful experience and an early chest-armor reward.
Rats and other weak enemies can be cleared while passing through, but do not delay a high-value quest circuit for extended low-level grinding.
Levels 3-6
Begin the Baldwin chain, combine caravan and tower objectives, and finish the most useful turn-ins before ordinary NPCs leave for the night. Most characters will complete Baldwin's Chain Mail route closer to level 8.
Advanced premium route: White Rats
Experienced players can begin the Rose or Love dialogue chain early, but the full White Rats route requires Big in Basile and several dangerous encounters. Most first-time players should buy Matthew's budget equipment and return later to unlock Rasobar and the Epee.
Most ordinary NPCs leave between 11:00 PM and midnight and return around 4:00 AM, although some use different schedules.
Use nighttime for dungeon objectives, equipment pickups, exploration, and enemy farming that does not require an available NPC.
Group objectives by destination and use a time stone, Pocket Watch, or the top-right night indicator before making the final trip.
It can save time after a remote objective, but experience loss, a long run back, or a failed pickup can make the route slower instead.
Early economy
Most players can reach level 10 with a 295-gold core melee setup. The 750-gold Epee plan is a premium optimization that requires the longer White Rats questline.
295
Core budget setup
750
Premium Epee setup
Most first attempts
100-gold class fee, 45-gold Iron Sword, and 150-gold Studded Shield
Safer Cube farming
Budget melee setup plus a 50-gold Kettle Helmet and 160-gold Gambeson
Experienced optimized runs
100-gold class fee and 650-gold Epee after completing the White Rats route
Future Mage characters
Remain Squire longer and reserve gold for Spellbooks, food, Mana, and later equipment
Weapon
The 45-gold Iron Sword is the practical budget choice. The Epee is a premium upgrade after the long White Rats route.
Shield
The 150-gold Studded Shield is a reliable purchase, while Vanguard trades some defense for offensive stats when available.
Chest
Buy the 160-gold Gambeson for an immediate upgrade, or finish Baldwin's longer questline for Chain Mail around level 8.
Head
A practical 50-gold early helmet that may also appear from Cube drops or the Abandoned Outpost route.
Legs and feet
Leather Cuisse is a documented 75-gold upgrade. Use basic boots until stronger options become worthwhile.
Levels 6-10
Once the important quests and budget equipment are secured, clear speed becomes the priority. Commit to Knight or Rogue when appropriate, or remain Squire for a future Mage, then use the best uncontested target your current defense can support.
Target
Cubes of Doom
Reward
Very high XP and valuable equipment
Difficulty
Moderate with a prepared shield build
Notes
Best primary target when uncontested, but likely crowded early in a test or release.
Target
Goblins
Reward
Strong XP and useful drops
Difficulty
Moderate to high
Notes
Good alternative once basic defense and a reliable weapon are secured.
Target
Occultists
Reward
Good XP with learnable attack timing
Difficulty
Moderate
Notes
Attack during the safe window, disengage before the response, then repeat.
Target
Skeletons
Reward
Consistent XP and occasional equipment
Difficulty
Low to moderate
Notes
Useful when stronger targets are crowded or the character is still undergeared.
Target
Rats
Reward
Low XP but extremely fast kills
Difficulty
Low
Notes
Clear them while moving through a route, but avoid relying on rats for the entire 6-10 grind.
The recorded build awarded roughly 452 XP per Cube and could drop shields, helmets, swords, bows, rarity upgrades, and vendor loot. Use them when the area is available, but keep an alternative loop ready for crowded servers.
Traits and stats
Ability improves damage, Capacity extends profitable farming trips, and defensive or sustain traits reduce the time lost to healing and death.
Stat priority
Put at least five early points into Capacity, especially before Baldwin's 85-ounce Iron Crude objective. Once you can carry armor, tools, food, quest items, and sellable drops, prioritize Ability for faster kills. Safer first attempts can include HP regeneration.
Around Level 6
Take it early on melee routes because flat damage represents a large percentage of low-level weapon damage.
Around Level 8
Especially valuable for Knight, but verify the actual displayed Defense increase after balance updates.
Around Level 10
Use it to reduce food and potion downtime during longer farming loops. Confirm the current trait name and values in-game.
Class routes
Fastest forgiving route
Use the keyword class and pay 100 gold once your basic melee equipment is secured. Knight changes stat multipliers but does not automatically grant skills or weapons.
Level with melee first
Rogue can commit early, but continue with a one-handed melee setup. Bow progression becomes easier later, around levels 16-18 in the community route.
Remain Squire until 12+
Consider staying Squire until around level 12 or later, when Mana, Magic, and MP Regeneration can better sustain regular spellcasting.
Advanced early detour
One recorded speed route completed this around level 10, but the community tracker recommends approximately level 12 and a group. Bring movement-speed food, healing, and careful aggro control if attempting it early.
End of the opening route
Level 10 matters most when the character also leaves the route with equipment, gold, and a sustainable next farming target.
Field questions
The two 2026 playtest routes reached level 10 in roughly two to three hours. An experienced player with an efficient spawn, little competition, and few mistakes may approach two hours, while a first attempt will usually take longer.
No. Clear enemies that block the route or die quickly, but preserve time and Faith for valuable quest rewards. Extended farming becomes more useful after the important daylight quest circuit is complete.
A practical budget setup costs about 295 gold: 100 gold for Knight or Rogue, 45 gold for an Iron Sword, and 150 gold for a Studded Shield. Adding a Kettle Helmet and Gambeson raises the target to about 505 gold.
No. The Epee is a strong 650-gold premium weapon unlocked through the long White Rats route, but an Iron Sword and Studded Shield are sufficient for the normal level 1-10 plan.
Cubes of Doom were the strongest combined XP and loot target in the recorded playtest. They may be heavily contested, so goblins, occultists, skeletons, and compact mixed-enemy loops are important alternatives.
Knight and melee Rogue can commit after saving the 100-gold fee and securing basic equipment. A future Mage may prefer to remain Squire until around level 12 or later. The class choice is irreversible and changes stat multipliers rather than automatically unlocking skills.
Some speed routes use death to return from distant objectives, but the experience loss and run-back time can erase the benefit. Treat it as an advanced shortcut rather than the default strategy.
One speed route completed the detour around level 10, but the community tracker recommends approximately level 12 and a group. Treat it as an advanced challenge rather than a required part of the level 1-10 route.
The general principles should remain useful, but quest keywords, item locations, NPC schedules, prices, Faith values, and traits may change between playtests and release builds.
